Most any rental place WILL rent to a 20 year old, but if you are under 25 they charge an additional per day fee, usually somewhere in between $15-$30 extra per day. Dollar Rental Cars has the cheapest prices, especially for around Boston. But, keep in mind, prices on their website don't factor in that extra fee, and they will check your license (age) at the time you check out the car.

Most will not rent to under 21 yr old as their insurance will not cover any insurance. I worked for a rental company and a 20 yr old begged, and he asked him sign a legal paper stating in the event of an accident, he was totally liable for the replacement cost of the whole car. I guess that's why he got the bus ....

I remember there was a place either in Central Square or Harvard Square that will rent to people under 25, but that was over 10 years ago, so they might not be around anymore. Find a phone book and call around.

Yes, my son was a young Bible student and he had no problem renting cars, they will check your references first, place of employment, valid drivers license,etc.etc. Try Budget rent a car,
Avis rent a car, Tilden Rent a car.
