How do you know if a product on Ebay has not been used? Like a toothbrush for example?

You have to read the discription and use your best judgement. You need to ask yourself, "How important is it to be totally unused?" - There are a number of things you just should not buy if they were being sold on e-bay. I don't think I would buy a toothbrush on ebay.

It should say in the item description. or you can msg the seller. Also check the packaging when you receive it.

You don't. No one physically checks that the item is what the owner says it is
