Because they are selfish and refuse to accept any kind of responsibility for their own actions.

I dont even like children and I am still against abortion.

Maybe because some people know that things can happen that are uncontrollable and that they do not have a right to judge another.

Which would be worse, a woman being raped and being impregnated then chosing to abort OR the woman being raped, being impregnated, but keeping the child...though raising it becomes a burden and always a reminder of where it came from/what circumstances it was born in.

Also, do you think it's ok if keeping the child means you will die and probably the child as well...but aborting the child means you will live.

Why don't you just keep your own standards for your own body and stop trying to judge everyone else.

I don't condone abortion but in some cases it may be better then to be abused, hungry, not loved. What bothers me is the stupid women who wait so long to do it. The very second I knew I was pregnant I was in love. But society has pounded it into peoples heads now that it's "NOT A BABY" until birth. So if you have an abortion at 6 months gestation it's not a baby but if it's born premature at 6 months it is a baby? Ridiculous. But everyone has their own opinion. . . . .and always will. And to think my poor nephew and wife had to spend thousands of dollars to get pregnant.

I guess they detach themselves emotionally along with the physical..

I cannot fathom this either but there seems to be no stopping abortions or abortionists.

There arguements that is the woman's choice holds no water. It was her choice when she had unprotected sex.

Pro choicers will say, what if she were raped or its incest, or she is at risk of dying...

That accounts for 1% of abortions performed each year. The other 99% are just done out of covenience or to fix a careless unprotected sex act.

I have rallied in the prolife arena for many years and I have seen the aftermath and depair many feel after having an abortion.

Some women are never able to bond with their children they have years later.

Some are damaged by having abortions and can never have children for that matter.

They have depression and feelings of guilt and remorse.

Others act like they just had their teeth cleaned and don't give it another thought until their teeth need cleaned again.

I work in a hospital and I had a patient once who had had 22 abortions. She was 27 years old.. She was having a baby in my department and as I read her chart I was shocked... Anyway she had her baby who was born with a form of dwarfism and she held that baby and loved it and wept for an hour. She was so thankful and all of the sudden she was weeping for all the children she had abandoned through abortion. It was so emotional and overwhelming that we had to call in social workers and psychiatrists to medicate her...

Another experience I had was with a 17 year girl having a saline abortion of a 7month old fetus.... She was chatting on the phone with her friends and acting like she was having a pedicure. Once her labor progressed she screamed and complained and used profanities that could be heard on the entire unit. When he little son was born he was perfect except for the saline burned skin and he was dead. She barely gave him a glance... Within 15 minutes she was on the phone bragging to pals that it was no big deal. That evening as she was being discharged, she asked if she could see her baby, we had to tell her No that aborted babies were sent to pathology. She began to weep uncontrollably as she came to realize what she had done......

My only peace in this prochoice movement is that heaven is surely full of babies.

How can one watch their 3 year old born with an open spine, and water on the brain, with no brain activity lay in a bed with tubes and hoses running from every orifice, with a machine guided respirator not wonder if she should have.
Or the woman who was so brutalized and disfigured from the rape that the child she produced would be a constant reminder that evil does take human form.
Both sides of abortion depend on the situation, should be left as a CHOICE for the one who's blood will be left on the birthing table.

It's generally more a choice between two evils than a simple choice between kill my baby or not kill my baby. For example, it may be a choice of have child that will starve to death or abort baby; have child that will be abused or abort baby; have child I will give no love to or abort baby. For some, that choice may still be simple - killing a baby is wrong. For others, namely those who actually have to make the decision, the choice truly is very difficult, but relevant to their situation.

However, I feel adoption, education, and easy access to birth control are generally better alternatives to conceiving and then aborting a baby.

I have 3 children and I still support abortion. Not every child is wanted or should be born into poverty or into a bad situation for whatever reason. The bottom line is that it's not for someone else to decide what others do with their lives and how and why they make the decisions they do. If you are not for abortion then dont have one but you only have the right to make that decision for yourself..not someone else.

How can a 16 year old girl hold a child knowing that he/she was a result of a rape case by a complete stranger? Abortion issues needs compromise.

You're asking the wrong people
Try asking the drug addict mother whose child is born hooked on heroin and who doesn't give a damn about her child

Try asking a mother whose child is born so deformed that it dies in her arms in dreadful pain

Try asking the dedicated staff (like my sister) who have to care for some of the children born as little more than vegetables whose lives are filled with pain and suffering, who die very young and never even have even an awareness of self during their short pointless and painful lives.

Try asking any of the unwanted and abused children in the world.

Try asking the woman who is raped and finds she is pregnant. Try asking her child when he/she grows up to find they are an unwanted result of an assault.

CASE STUDY: a very good friend of mine was raped nearly 6 years ago. When she found she was pregnant she chose to have the baby. Her son was born partially blind and with moderate to severe mental impairement - his mental age will never be more than that of a child. Her husband left her because he found that every time he saw her son he was reminded of what happened and he couldn't cope with the child not being his. This has deprived his three children of a father. My friend now suffers severe bouts of depression brought on by the strain of looking after this "child of rape" and is torn between wanting to care for him and resenting him for symbolising what has happened to her and the way it has ruined her life - she has attempted suicide several times (twice in front of her children). She now freely admits that although she is a devout Catholic, abortion would have been the better option for her, her husband and their three children. No-one has the right to judge this poor woman in this just as no-one has the right to decide on someone else's behalf about an abortion.

Abortion is a matter of personal choice... just make sure you let real people make that choice for themselves

I have two children but if someone has to have an abortion for medical reasons then I have no problem with that.

I don't agree with abortion when it is used as a contraceptive.

You should look at the reasons before judging!
