I don't know if they will come out of Hollywood or not but the market for Biblical based entertainment is mushrooming. The Christian book market has just been phenominol with even the major publishers buying Christian publishers to get into that market.

TV and movie industry can't be far behind because inspite of the left leaning PC crowd in Hollywood producers/stockholders have a noise for profit. The religious community worldwide is growing rapidly and they are affluent with lots of disposable income. Someone will want to tap that market as surely as the book sellers did.

Looking at The Passion of The Christ and how well it did in the market. And then there is Facing the Giants which was done by a Baptist Church with amatuer and it managed to get a showing. In fact on the weekend it came out this movie by amatuers grossed 12th at the box office. All of which points to money to be made by meeting the needs of religious people who have money to spend and will spend it if given material to their liking.

But don't look to Hollywood just yet. They are followers.

Usually when one refers to a "golden age" of something, it would mean that it is in a state of decline. I tend to agree with that accessment -- a lot of movies from tinseltown nowadays tend to put Christianity and Christians in general as something to avoid.
Recently, however there have been a few examples of good movies centered around people and themes from the Bible.

"The Prince of Egypt" is one (even though it takes a few liberties) as well as "Jospeh, King of Dreams," both from Dreamworks. Then there's that fantastic one from Mel Gibson, "The Passion of the Christ."

There is, however another alternative out there to those fantastic works of old like "The Ten Commandments," "The Bible," and others -- these are ones who do not depict Bible people or events per se, but have Christian themes and situations either overt or outright. (The "Left Behind" movies may be in a class of its own as they deal with what is Biblically prophesied to come.) A few of these movies include "Joshua" (a story of a do-gooder who comes into town and changes people in a remarkable way), "The End of the Spear," and "The Mission" from a few years back.

From the outside, "Signs" from M. Night Shymalan appears as a horror movie, but its underlying theme is about a priest who turns his back on his faith after the death of his wife and the supernatural events that cause him to embrace it more tightly than he had before. "The Chronicles of Narnia," "The Lord of the Rings" series, and even "The Matrix" series have either subtle or overt analogies to Christianity.

Oh, there are great ones out there for the Christian values-minded to watch, but as times have changed, so have the movies.

The remark about the studios "possessing" stars decrease back then, is amazingly precise. The studio created an photo and held the starlet to it. If she did not agree, or did not degree up, she did not get any extra paintings. It replaced right into a touch in course of slavery. the modern gadget has many many faults, yet a minimum of maximum actresses can make or damage themselves. Blame us, the buyer, for Lohan and others. If we handed over her, she might want to not in any respect change into any such money maker. yet we adore our trailer trash and actuality shows.

not likely. there are too many religions and as our country was founded in part on religious freedoms It wouldn't work..
Russia did good with that during the cold war..Germany under Hitler wasn't bad either. their choices were the only choices.
and when do you think we did? that's a serious question..
