I use my laptop all the time for school and for work. I am in my first trimester and it just made me wonder if i might be causing hard to my baby. It seems like anything and everything is now cause for concern...or at least everyone seems to say so.....like is the gum I am chewing sugar-free...and if so or either way I could be causing fetal harm..... there is sooooo much information and misinformation out there and sooo many idiots with an opinion that it makes it hard not to fall victim to the bs sometimes. Now I had someone tell me I could cause fetal damage by using my laptop. So if there is any info on this please let me know. You know women have been having healthy babies since the beginning of time...I'm just sick to death of the unsolicited opinions of others considering most people have little or no education on the subject.

Just today, I actually got an email from babycenter.com today about things that are safe and not so safe. I read using a computer while pregnant is safe; however, there's no mention of using a laptop. I don't think it would cause harm, but you should ask your doctor just in case.

A few weeks ago, the copy machine in our suite had a paper jam. I was trying to get it out and one of my co-workers got mad at me and said that it would harm my baby. When I read the list that I got (and attached here), it says that a copy machine will cause no harm to you if you're pregnant.

It's so funny because my best friend warned me about things like this. She said once you become pregnant, people treat you differently, like you're handicapped. I mean, I understand that people mean well, but I'm still capable of doing a lot of things for myself, thank you very much.

Good luck and I hope you find the answers you're looking for.

I am a computer software tester and work in front of a laptop 10 plus hours a day. I have been pregnant twice during the last 3 years. Both of my babies are healthy and strong.
The only thing that laptops and computer monitors do to you is strain your eyes.
Feel safe using your computer.

Cell phones, Laptops, People clame that these things can cause trouble for an unborn baby but it is not true. I use a laptop and cell phone daily and I told my doctor this after hearing the rumors about the damage they can cause. It is just not true. My doctor okayed the use of those things

I have never heard of that. I will have to do some research on the subject though since I'm trying to conceive.
