When I was younger I knew an old guy who was known as 'Uncle Albert' who lived in the same road as either John or Paul when they where younger and apparently babysat one of them sometimes.

I never thought anything of it until recently when I heard there is a song called 'Uncle Albert'. Could he have been the inspiration for the song?

Uncle Albert is on McCartney's his solo album, Ram, which if you haven't heard it is very good and includes a few nicely bitter songs written about Lennon as they weren't friends at the time. Lennon replied to these songs with How Do You Sleep on the Imagine album. In the end McCartney made up with Let Me Roll It on Band on the run. So no, I think it's McCartney's uncle.
