Hi:

Molds (Moulds, in British English) are a class of fungi.

Fungi are classified into yeasts and molds. Yeasts are unicellular fungi and typically have a spherical or oval shape. Molds, on the other hand, are filamentous and multicellular. They form filaments called 'Hyphae' and reproduction is either sexual or asexual, but by the formation of spores. Spores of fungi exhibit very interesting morphologies and hold significant taxonomical importance. Spores of molds are found normally in the air and are the prime source of routine contaminants in bacterial culture media, in human infections and food spoilage. I guess you do know that fungi are eukaryotes.

Hope this helps.
Cheers!
