Hi! I'm 5 weeks pregnant, and i'm experiencing cramping, kind of like pms cramps or a little worse. It come and goes... and doesn't hurt serverly. Is this normal? We moved over the weekend, and I didn't lift anything too heavy, but I did have a lot of the moving stress! This is my first pregnancy, and I guess I'm not quite sure what is normal or isn't. Thanks for all the help!

The cramps are normal. It's your uterus expanding and getting ready to stretch. Buy the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting." I loved that book. But don't become a hypochondriac. My doctor told me to stop reading so much because I was starting to worry about things that she said are very unlikely and that she would tell me what's important. Therefore, always ask your doctor. If the cramps become really bad and there is any sign of spotting, call your doctor. Good luck with your pregnancy!

I had a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy too, and I am not for sure if I just noticed it more because I was worried or not, but I had horrible cramps all up to 12 weeks. Now at 30 weeks and so far everything is fine. You might just be really aware of everything and watching for any bad signs. As long as there isn't any bleeding, I wouldn't worry too much. I think you can be having implantation cramping around that time too. Good luck and relax!!

Minor cramping is definitely normal after all you do have an embryo attached to your uterus that is developing. However if the cramping becomes painful then you should definitely see a doctor. Since you are still early in pregnancy you may experience cramping frequently. Also being under stress can make cramping worse. Just try to relax and take it easy. If you are still worried then why not just make a doctor's appointment for the hell of it? I assume you will be going for check ups regularly so why not just mention it to your doctor? If you think cramping is bad just wait until you give birth! Good luck!

Some cramping as if you are about to start your period is normal. If it starts to feel worse, sit down and relax.. put your feet up. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water (can be a reason for cramps). The ligaments in your uterus are stretching, and causing some of the cramps. If it gets severe call your OB. Hope this helps.

Yup, relax. You can experience cramping from about 4 weeks to about 8 weeks, maybe a bit longer. Just think about all the work your body's doing to get ready for your new baby! Think it is uterus stretching. If it worries you, see the doctor. Good luck.

Don't worry, its normal to cramp the first few weeks. You uterus is just reacting and changing from your new baby. It is a muscle and when musles get used, they get sore. Your good, and its completely normal. If, however, the cramping gets severe or there is any spoting with it, go up to emerg and get checked out. Congrats

yes. With both my pregnancies I thought I was getting my period but the cramps were from my body stretching. I think it is normal but call your doctor to set your mind at ease.

Yes it is normal. I had that with my son, and I am experiencing that now with my second. Think of them as growing pains.
