This will depend on if you have airfare on most. But depends on the cruise line you are looking at because they each have there own set of rules on things like this. You might need to put in a name and usually have up until Final Payment to do a name change. After that typically you have up to a point to do so, but you then pay a name change fee.

If you would like help in finding you the perfect cruise, feel free to email me and I can help you with that.

The information I have concerns NCL. Calculate that your soda package will cost about $7 for each day of the cruise - per person. That's $98 for 2 people on a 7-day cruise, plus an automatic gratuity of about 18% depending on the cruise line. Figure that against the cost per soda at your local restaurant. Buying in each port may cut that cost easily in half, or more, so we never get the soda package. Water packages are a waste of money and not really necessary as the water on board is safe to drink. I always drink the water on the ship and I've never had any issues with it. You can get teas of all sorts and coffee as well as some juices or iced tea at the buffet and it doesn't cost anything; however, there may be a charge for certain juices or iced tea at meal time (except breakfast). In light of some recent "unfortuanate events" on some ships, bringing your own bottled water and sodas from shore might not be such a bad idea. We usually buy a supply of sodas before embarkation day and in each port-of-call. If your stateroom has a mini-bar fridge you can keep them there, or you can ask of ice if it isn't provided. You can do the same with water, but it isn't necessary. If you drink wine, a wine package might be worth it. Inquire about it on embaraktion day, or order it before sailing. It is often "buy 5, get 6" and, depending on the cruise line, you can take any unopened bottles with you when you disembark. You are given a sticker or a tag that you present for your wine, and you may have it where and when you choose: restaurant, buffet, stateroom, poolside. Expect to tip in the last 3 areas. They often have similar things with beer, or even daily beer specials.
