That's called spotting and it usually indicates a change in hormones. This is probably due to the fact that your body has only been having a period for a short time and you are still maturing physically. It should be fairly normal.
However, if you feel very concerned about the situation, talk to your doctor or a gyno. They will be able to advise you.

Some people are irregular, especially when they are younger. Are you, by any chance, on any type of birth control? Other things can affect a period's regularity as well, such as stress, age, and sudden weight loss. Spotting between periods isn't necessarily abnormal either. If it continues for a while, then I would speak to a gynecologist. I don't know if this has been going on for the entire 2 years or not. Sometimes, there may be a medical reason for irregular periods and spotting. But like I said, it may just be the fact that you are so young.

It sounds like you are on birth control pills. The same stuff happens to me and I'm on the pill and my doctor told me that's why. Also, stress can cause irregularities like that.

Are you on birth control? If you're not, you should talk to your doctor. He/she could help you find something to regulate your period.
