I have a doctor's appointment this week, and I know he is going to do a rectal exam on me. I've never had this done and am a bit apprehensive about it. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with this? Does it hurt?

They lube up their fingers really well, so its not that bad just alot of pressure. But I was hospitalized for dehydration four years ago, and they did that to me. Its weird but not too painful.

The doc will use something like K-Y Jelly for a lubricant. It is not exactly pleasant but takes only 3-5 seconds. For a male, he is usually checking the prostrate and it is worth the discomfort for the info he gets. It also gives you a slight sensation of wanting to pee. You asked.

it is just uncomfortable,typically they do it with a pap exam so you don`t always realize they do it.

He sticks a fingure in you... it's more embarrasing than uncomfortable.
