8, eight ounce glass of water is usually enough for the average person. If you are particularly active you may need more.

Well first, that whole 8 8-ounce glasses thing is basically an old wives' tale. Doctors who actually know what they're talking about say it's completely arbitrary and doesn't reflect the body's actual needs. You could drink that much though and be fine, and since some people swear by it, good for them.
But basically, drink when you're thirsty. Drink more water when it's hot and you've been in the sun or when you've exerted yourself physically. There are some serious health issues from drinking too much water, but you really have to go overboard to reach that stage.
It IS good to drink water throughout the day, as opposed to other beverages like soda, coffee, etc.

atleast 8 glass of water is the normal water our body needs but if you can drink more than that it will help you to gain more energy and you can avoid a lot of sickness and possible infection of the body ,because drinking water is the best thing for anti couagulant and best against any sickness.

Cut out all the sodas... Dilute your juices. If you are thirsty drink water. People will say eight 8oz glasses a day. Bull... Drink as much water as your body asks for. Learn to listen to your body and it will tell you how much water it needs. You get you water from fruits, veggies, food... if you still haven't met your quota your body is real quick in letting you know.

8 glasses or 2 liters is a good amount in a normal day, higher amounts if you are in hot and dry weather or taking diuretics, too much is more than 20 liters in a day which is not easy to do! good luck

while it is highly unlikely and rare, it is possible to overhydrate yourself. the condition is called 'hyponatremia" and is usually seen in serious athletes and people who are ill. you should check with your doctor but i dont think you could accidentally do this to yourself. unless you are drinking like 5 gallons a day and sweating it out profusely then you are probally fine.
