Do you belong to a religious (church or temple), social or charitable organization? Maybe they have 'sister' organizations on Cod's Cape.

how about finding some of the places or events that the locals go to and go there the next time you're at the cape? i'm not sure how old you are, but the bartender at the local bar can usually tell you everything going on in town and where it's going on. how about asking the waiters or waitresses at any of the breakfast or lunch places where and what the locals do and when? don't just go to the internet, if you really want to meet people, it's always better face to face.

Penpal sites, subscribe to their local newspaper, place an ad in their local paper for friendship (but you might want to be specific).
