there is no certain time that an engagement has to last. It is whatever the two of you are comfortable and happy with.

So apparently the engagement will last for at least 1 1/2 years? (it's not clear whether it will continue while he's in uni as well)

My own engagement lasted nearly two years and it was fine. You should be, too, but it's a good idea to have a date set, even if it is 2 years or so away.

An engagement is a promise to each-other that you will be together. It can last as long as you like and are comfortable with. I was engaged nearly 2 years before I was married and we are now at 11 years. So enjoy your time before the "big" day and don't worry about what others say, you need to do what is right for the both of you.

Yep. i could say he has no intentions of marriage. on the same time as engagements final ridiculously long on the instant, popular is a million-3 years. An engagement ability you're actually making plans a marriage, and 6 years it would not take. of path, it additionally might have been a ploy to get her to pass in so he ought to get popular intercourse and he maintains to have excuses (no longer sufficient money, circumstances no longer superb, that is basically a chew of paper).
