It was actually pretty simple, yet complicated at the same time. I just needed to be with him and he made being around him easy and comfortable, as if we had known each other our whole lives. I was able to imagine myself with this man for the rest of my life and I hadnt really done that before.
On his side, he said that the first time he saw me, I smiled and then at that moment, he knew I was the One. Cute, huh? ;)

If you have to ask then the one you are with is not the one. I cannot explain how I knew, I can only say that when you meet the right one, you will know and there will be no doubt in your mind.

I knew because when we met, I was suffering clinical depression and on meds. I was still also hurt from a failed marriage.
But she saw something in me. She's the strongest thing in my life. I'm now through my depression and hurt and we've been happily together for five years, two of those married!
I knew she was the one when it became clear she accepted me, baggage and licking my woulds and all.

this is how l new, and l wrote a poem for her.
My Loving Angel
I believe that we all have an angel.
An Angel that really does care.
An Angel of who looks after us.
An Angel that is always there.
I know for a fact that I have one.
She lives here upon the Earth.
She believes in me and what I do.
Teaches me what I'm worth.
She picks me up when I fall down.
Makes me laugh when I cry.
Makes me smile when I’m sad.
She keeps my head up high.
Always there when I need her
All I have to do is call.
She’s the one keeping me alive.
She keeps me standing tall.
I'm so grateful to have her.
I love her to death.
Always and forever.
Until my very last breath.

I didn't, still don't, and never will... I don't even know what "The One" means, to be honest - I was simply looking for someone I could handle being with long-term; my husband seems to be it. We're just compatible, is all; and if he is The One or not - I don't really care.

Because we both saw the potential in each other. We rejoice in success, hug when we hurt, go to different rooms when we fight... its been good...
