My Brother recently did some major plumming work in his bathroom and removed the tolet. And sewar gas and fumes kept coming out for awhile. It was in an older house that they are fixing up.
Now his family is sick and I'm wondering if vapors from the pipes are the cause of the sickness.

Him and a friend who is plummer did all the work.

yes, sewer gas can be harmful and even deadly. but the amount coming from an open pipe in house would at best only make you nauseous when actually breathing it in. you dont say that fumes are still coming in so i am going to assume that they are not. you also do not say how/what symptoms of sickness are so i would guess that sickness is probably from some other cause.

It is possible, especially considerring some of the products used to clean toilets.

Have you tried airing the place out yet? That might help.

Good luck!
