A is the correct answer. It is above normal and considered a core temperature. The other two are not as accurate of measurements as a rectal temperature. Your core body temperature should be near 98.6 degrees. Most people tend to be slightly cooler than normal, not warmer than normal. Even if you correct the axillary temp for 1 degree, the rectal temp is still further off the mark. FYI, the most accurate way to measure body temperature is with a pulmonary artery catheter, but those are only used in critical care in a small number of patients. A list, in order of accuracy is as follows:
PA catheter
Esophageal probe (done during surgery or in ICU)
Tympanic (ear)
Nasopharyngeal (during surgery)
Rectal
Bladder (incorporated into a foley catheter)
Skin (axillary)
Strangely, this list didn't have oral, but I would guess that to be between rectal and bladder or bladder and skin.

C an axilliary temp (under the arm) is generally a degree cooler than an oral temp. 97.8 is a low grade fever than you wouldn't treat. Low fevers allow antibodies in your system to fight infection.
