See a marriage counselor. Must be other issues involved or one or both could move. Could set some goals and time lines for future steps to resolve differences. Negotiations are needed, possibly through a older trusted friend who could be objective. What about a clergy who could help? List all the reasons for getting a divorce or staying married. List solutions and the pros and cons of each for each of you. Decide on some compromises each are willing to make. Let time go by during which more thinking and planning occurs. Pray about the problems.

Yes,there is a way out, if thats the answer for you both. But it then makes the marriage look like a complete waste of time if you cannot work out something like, where you are going to live after agreements were made. Maybe she is doing this as she has met someone else and its an excuse to get a divorce.

Do nothing for 2 years and if she hasn't filed for divorce by then - file for absolute divorce in MD stating that you have been separated for 2 years. She could claim abandonment - but you went to NJ and she didn't want to move with you, which is not abandonment. Be prepared to pay some alimony and to have your property equally divided.

I hate to say it, but if she doesn't love you enough to move (having known she would need to before getting married) then she was probably more in love with the idea of getting married.......not of actually marrying you. You need to move on. Realize the mistake and both move on. If you need to stay in NJ then the right girl will come along who wants to be with you, no matter where you live.

There ARE more fishies in the sea.
You know what---divorce sucks, no matter HOW you look at it. It hurts your feelings, BUT if you can't handle being around the other prson--OR can't move to the same town--I would HAVE to bow out--ever so nicely and neatly. JUST DO IT!!
Give her what she wants.

You CAN live without her.
Maybe NEXT time, you will TALK ABOUT IT A LITTLE LONGER, perhaps? (grin)

It sounds like she doesn't want things worked out, she just wants out. It hard to save something you don't have.
Let it go and move on. Next time, be sure of the living arrangements.
Sorry I couldn't tell you what you wanted to hear. But maybe the right one hasn't come along yet.
Good luck.
