I usta do local country bars and clubs. I was persueing a country music carreer. but i decided to leave it a hobby and chase more aspirations.

No, im not saying ditch your idea. but for starters, you need talent, and a band (im almost sure you already have those) - then head to local pubs (bars, clubs, etc) try karoake contests, and live band contests. You gotta get noticed locally to head to the Hollywood/Nashville competitions.

Once you get noticed locally, normally, fans will pitch in and help with the pricey competition costs of the "big guys" (hollywood/nashville)

once your there. you gotta focus on the lyrics, and the sway of the beat and assuring the beat matches the lyrics (metal doesnt go well with love songs, for example) and you need to pay attention to what the billboard is saying, www.billboard.com as refference. You gotta sing what people want to hear in the genre you wanna sing.

good luck.

Establish your own identity (style, etc.). PRACTICE A LOT. PRACTICE more and polish. Look for any opportunity to perform. Put on a great show even if there is only one person in the audience -- and leave 'em wanting more. PRACTICE, perform, more. It takes talent, HARD WORK, perseverance and a good bit of luck.

What do you want to do? Do you want to be a singer/musician, a songwriter, do you want to be an agent, do you want to produce? You need to clarify what you would like to do with music. There are so many different careers.
