Press each key and see what happens. Sometimes nothing. Sometimes it depends upon the program you are using at that time.

Sorry, there's no way to tell you. The F keys have different functions depending on the operating system you're using, and they assume different functions depending on the program you are using. I ran into a situation where there was a conflict between program and OS. I had my business contact software and went to win xp f10 is a permanent function key in win xp and it was essential in my software. couldn't use software.
I would suggest going to www.pcworld.com and just search around. I subscribe to several of their newsletters and they have, on several occasions, given out a list of "shortcuts" which include the "f" keys.
What you can do. When you find the stuff(technical term) highlight it click on print and then select the "selection" option (it will have all/selection/pages) this will print only what you have highlighted. I have two pages of shortcuts printed up. hope this helps. OH! it's broken down by operating system.

The function keys can be programmed to do different things in different programs. Unless you are given specific instructions to press one of them, my advice is don't. As for searching for information, the more words you use the better. A search engine will bring up every location that includes the word you type. Therefore, if you're looking for something specific, you'll lose alot of time by just typing one word.
