I have asked in both Gamestation and Game and both have stated that they could not guarantee a machine BEFORE Christmas let alone December 8th. As I am only interested in one before christmas does anyone know of a UK company that only takes pre-orders on machines that they will actually have in stock, in effect guaranteeing one on December 8th or a day or two later.

These places will try their hardest but basically no-one can guarantee you a machine because until they get their stock in they don't know how many machines they are going to get.... you can only pretty much assume that you are definitely going to get your machine if you are first on the pre-order list.

All I can recommend is you go to as many stores as you can, find out if the deposit to pre-order the console is fully refundable and if it is place an order in all of those places. Therefore, whichever shop recieves your console quickest, you can pick it up from and then go and get your deposits back from everywhere else.

If you don't place a pre-order anywhere, then it will be ages before you get a console at all, because they will have to go through the list of pre-orders before they will sell to the general public.

Hope this helps.

Mate, it is probably way too late to go to any big shops which have been preordering, but luckily I have the magical answer!

Amazon have not opened there pre-ordering since they want to find out how many units the are going to receive so they can actually guarentee people who preorder will receive there Wii! Therefore, sign up to there Wii "Alert me" button and they will email you once they know how many units they are receiveing and the date they will open pre-orders, then all you have to do is get in there quickly on the day!!!!

Hope I have helped your query!

The problem is that until the stock actually arrives they can't guarantee any product. I'm sure Game are letting people pre-order, I just checked their site www.game.co.uk. and they say they are. It must have been in your local store.

Dixons, Currys and HMV are all taking orders. Not sure if its still valid, but try Currys online with the code PRICERN02 to get 10% off and PRFREEDEL to get free delivery. That'd get you it for £161.99.
