vio_prince ~ what are you talking about? you're not even making sense ~ please don't answer my questions if you don't know what you're talking about ~ I didn' ask if I was dumb ~ I couldn't be dumb with what I do for a living ~ My question is: Why do people call me 'dumb' and insult me when I ask questions about my car? Please learn to read ~ thanks!

If you need to know ask it, screw anyone who thinks that you are dumb. If everyone knew they would not be where they are they would be doctors or other crazy things like that.... yeah doctors are crazy you heard right.. see when you go to the doctor they say try this and if it does not work come back in two weeks and we will try something else.... so there is my point not even doctors know everything....Good Luck

On a public forun like this, you have all types. Ignore the useless responses and focus on the helpful ones.
You know you're not dumb so if you have a question about cars, any question, ask away.

it is because we are women. men feel threatened because we are invading on their territory. this is the one area where they are usually thought to be more knowledgeable than women and if we take it from them where would they be? i too have learned about cars and can take my motor and tranny out of my car and put it back by myself. honey go buy yourself a chilton manuel at the auto store and learn. power is knowledge and then they cant rip you off at the mechanics anymore. also, the next time someone argues with you about repairs and you are right it will feel so good. especially when they give you the "honey, tell your husband, he'll know what i mean" please don't get me wrong, not all men are like this but i have encountered them more often than not. i actually made 3 trips to the auto store for an axle boot and knew the guy was giving me the wrong piece each time but rather than be rude i went home and tried them. i finally had to bring the axle to the store and i made sure to put it right on his papers on the counter and get grease everywhere. funny, he couldnt make it fit either.......

here is the problem i run into. when someone PRETENDS to know what they are talking about. i assume they do, and answer the questions in a form that i think they can understand. then when you start asking questions like, "so then i tighten the drain plug?" yeah, i think youre dumb. HOWEVER, if you tell me, "ive never changed my oil before, how is it done?" i think its cool that you are wanting to learn, and more than willing to help and give advice. if youre the second type listed, then forget about them, i think whoever you are asking just doesnt know the answer or just trying to be a jerk.

Most don't know themselves. I see a lot of wrong car answers.
Be careful taking car advice even from so called mechanics. A lot of mechanics make a living replacing the wrong parts on a car, they work on commision on parts they sell.

If they were dumb questions they must be right if not they r wrong , I here never have heard those questions to judge if they were dumb, but I guess they may have been dumb , coz u seem so to me, coz ur bothering to ask bout ur dumb or not.

because you are asking common sense questions and don't use the excuse that your a girl because thats not a good one at all I'm a girl an i know these things "low tire pressure" lets see what is a tire filled with OH air what is so MM maybe my tire needs air ! this is something that you should be able to figure out on your own.

Some people just have to be over looked. It is really not there fault. It is there parents fault for not teaching them any better.
