Patriots are defenders of the American way. The Republicans and Democrats are just the defended.

Which ones? I'm having trouble finding people in any party that defend the American way. The defender are becoming a smaller minority every day.

If the "American Way" you speak of includes congressmen molesting teenage pages, presidents violating the constitution unlawfully, running up huge federal deficits to get our courageous soldiers killed in a meaningless war, usurping constitutionally guaranteed rights in the name of "security," trying to write into law the narrow-minded moral code of a few fundamentalist christian sects...then yep, you're right, republicans are the only ones defending that stuff.

If by the "American Way" you mean freedom of speech, equal treatment for all citizens (including liberty civil rights, justice, etc.), no government establishment of religion, caring for the environment, fostering a postive economic climate and not running up huge debts...then the republicans are doing a terrible job. Kick the bums out.

It seems like the case. I know Democrats never served or will never serve the military. A lot will never defend freedom. Is that what you are saying? What American Way, you mean the US Patriot Act?

Defenders? Get real! Things have gotten continually worse under the Republican reign.

Since the republicans have gutted the constitution and the bill of rights, WHICH American way are you refering to?

Since they seem to want to redefine it to suit their fancies, yes.

If you know the American way as an ability to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, no, no one seems to be defending that nowadays.

Thanks for your question.

Republicans don't defend the 'American Way' - they only defend themselves and their gluttonous way of life. -RKO-

No the new American way is giving aid and comfort to the enemies of America. The only true way to show your patriotism is to attack your country during wartime. You must not watch CNN.

They think they are because they have a myopic view of what they think defines the American way.
