some do, some do not. The Scots have an fairly puzzling time. there's a community close to Ottawa that has the "Ottawa Valley accent" - faintly Scottish, in spite of the actual incontrovertible truth that it is now 3 or 4 generations because the human beings settled there from Scotland. some Germans actually have issues. OTOH, Arabs seem to %. up community accents very right away, as do many chinese (no longer all). it type of feels to be dependant upon the man, yet custom slightly. when I got here to visit with my moms and dads (England to Canada), my father worked very demanding to lose his accent. He replaced into remarkably valuable, until eventually he spoke right into a microphone - radio, television, or now and again, phones. Then, it would want to sneak decrease back. I somewhat have an fairly Canadian accent (born there, yet grew up right here), yet on journeys decrease back to England, and English one looks to seem from nowhere.

I have a midwestern accent. I think I've lost some of it since moving. But I try to keep it. The accent (where I currently live) sounds kind of odd to me.

I have a friend who lives in Florida who swears I have an accent. I live in Chicago and people who aren't from here tell me I have one so I guess it's true. I think we all have accents to people who live in other parts of the country/world. I won't want to lose it, it doesn't bother me at all.
