In the mornings when I wake up I always seem to have a pretty bad headache, it's done this for about 6 months now. My whole head and back of my neck is tender and sore but after about an hour it'll usually go away but sometimes it turns into a full blown headache. I have migranes a lot I'm on Inderal and Imitrex for that so I know it's not a migrane by the way the two feel. I'm not sure what it can be and I hate going to the doctor because I have to go a lot anyway.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

I'm not big on muscle relaxants. They usually make people feel really sluggish the next day. What about trying a new pillow? Some of the memory foam pillows are getting rave reviews from people who suffer from neck pain.

it may be related to your bed or pillow. try one of those ergonomic pillows and maybe a mattress cover made of the same type of material. if the condition persists see a doctor
