Hillary Rodham Clinton wrote in the Yale Law Review in 1979:

"Children should have a right to be permitted to decide their own future if they are competent." "Decisions about motherhood and abortion, schooling, cosmetic surgery, treatment of venereal disease, or employment, and others where the decision or lack of one will significantly affect the child's future should not be made unilaterally by parents."

So-am I (as a parent) only the caregiver of my child and that her liberal/socialist government trumps my parenting rights?

Great insight Steven! Certainly! If a 13 year old child is wise enough to get pregnant an STD--they're certainly old enough and wise enough to make the rest of their decisions on their own. Maybe that is why Hillary didn't let Chelse attend a school that provides contraceptives............ again not only is she insane, she is a hypocrite!

Should this socialist gain control of our country and should you choose to raise your children your way not hers, you will find yourself behind bars.

Make no mistake, this person will take away your liberties in pursuit of a socialist utopia. She has been a marxist her whole life and there are dozens of websites that prove it.

Try actually reading what she said. A competent human being should have the right to make decisions for himself if that decision affects his future. A parent can set rules, of course, but a parent should not have 100% authority over the issues Mrs. Clinton mentions.

Government has nothing to do with it. It's a human rights issue.

Her point is if the child is mature enough, and children mature at different rates, then the parent should try and discuss these issues with them rather than dictating what they will do.

That was 79 and times have changed. I'm sure she would make some amendments.
