I've heard the saying, god won't give you more than you can handle, but I'm starting to doubt that. I can't take much more. I'm a good person. I've been laid off from my job and can't even make ends meet. I'm trying to get my kids through college but I'm failing. I was married twenty years to an unfaithful man, and divorced two years ago. When I finally manage to get free, things get worse. I finally found love, but he told me to leave because he can't love me back. I'm just sitting here wondering when or if things will ever get better. I know things could be worse, and I should be greatful, but its not making me feel any better. Thanks.

I'd be willing to email you more about this. I don't think I can give you the answer you need in this platform.

If you want to give me further details you can email me through my profile. I've given a few divorces some advice and I think it would apply to you too

IF you do email, please copy the question in the email.

I sometimes find that to be false, also. God never give more than can be handled.... I sometimes question it, but then I realize that even after all of that pain and hard times, I'm still here and I'm still trying to get through it.

If I were you, I'd try to break things down and focus on a few things at a time. Like finding a job, or getting some kind of assistance.

I honestly know nothing about child support and things like that, but I would think that since your children are still in school and still your responsibility, they are also the responsibility of your ex, their father. Divorce from a spouse does not mean divorcing the children also, so he needs to participate in finding a way to get your children the education they desire.

Also, I would suggest you start focusing on yourself. You need to take a break and find out who you are now, alone. You need to find that strength as a single, hard-working, strong, smart individiual. Take some time for yourself and focus on getting yourself together (I'm not talking about financially or materialistically, I'm talking about internally, mentally and emotionally) before you go and try to find love again.

I doubt I'm much help but I wish you the best.

being good never mean being stupid. No one say you should not be good. You just should not make stupid mistakes.

You have bad judgment on men. laid off happens and all industries. so just get a government job, learn to read men better and your kids will finish college soon in a few year. nothing like these event last for ever. Just "learn" from your mistake and move on.

Unless you think you didn't make any mistake then it's going to happen again and don't blame god. it you baby.

good luck

Unfortunately, that particular scripture is misinterpreted.
The saying that God won't give you more than you can handle comes from this scripture>>>
1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
It's actually about temptations of evil>>> He won't allow us to be tempted to do evil, without giving us a way to escape/overcome the temptation... & He won't allow us to be tempted with evil, more than we're able to deal with.
When we go thru trials/heartaches, it's good to remember this verse>>>
Romans 8:28 All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called (chosen)>>> according to His purpose (His plan, His reasons).
God can take something that the devil meant for bad (to hurt/harm us) & turn it into a blessing for us.
For instance: we gain the wisdom of knowing what's not best for us... then we'll be able to know what is best for us, when the best does come our way.
The devil tries to get us to give up on God, to turn our backs on Him... but, cling to Him with all your strength... because He's got something (or someone) better for you.
I prayed my wishes/will (concerning a certain issue) for many years... kept getting what I asked for, but things just didn't work out, so I prayed for His will about it & He gave me better!
