I don't mean to insult you, but your English is very poor, & I had a lot of trouble understanding some of your details, but I want to help you. I am a Security expert with more than 30yrs experience in Canada, & I have taken a particular interest in stalkers. Many states in the United States have laws on their books that make stalking a crime, & we have similar laws in Canada. I assume that you live in the United States, so depending on where you live you may have laws against stalking or you may not.
Sometimes the police will take on a bad attitude even if a law is being broken, so find out if there are laws against stalkers where you live, & if there are, then go back to the police & keep asking them to do their job. Also take out a protection, or restraining order against this man if you can.
Your employer could help you some, by telling this guy to stay off the property where you work. If he comes back he can be charged with tresspassing.
Stalkers can be very complicated to deal with, especially by using the legal system. He may get some satisfaction when he comes to you, & you get all upset, & try to tell him not to bother you. The best thing you can do is engage him as little as possible, & try not to show emotion in front of him.
So if he calls on the telephone, hang up without saying a word. If he shows up in front of your house, don't go out & yell at him to go away, just call 911 & tell them you have a suspicious man outside watching your house. If he comes to you in public try to ignore him, & avoid eye contact, & don't say a word to him.
If he persists try to document every encounter with him the best way you can. Either write down all of the details with time, date, place, & everything he says or does, with as much detail as you can remember. Or have a video camera with you at all times, & document your encounters on video. Make sure that the camera has a time & date function, so that it is recorded on the video at the same time. If possible have a friend work the camera while you go about your business. In this case you can respond to him, but keep your responses short & to the point, by saying "NO" or "GO AWAY" anything that makes it clear to someone watching the video, that you don't want him around. But whatever you do, don't engage in an argument with him.
In some instances you can make written documentation, as well as video, both is better.
What you are doing is getting as much evidence as you can that he is harrassing you, & stalking you. It will be far easier to go into court with this kind of evidence than it will if you rely strictly on memory, & will have a greater impact on the court.
Don't be discouraged if one or two Police officers tell you there is nothing you can do. Get an attourney, & stand up for your rights. You have a right to a peacefull existance, & you are exactly right when you said it's not your fault that he is a nutjob. So you shouldn't have to suffer because of it.

It is an horrendous situation, and you have my sympathies. I am a man and was stalked by a woman who would leave notes and red roses on my car, call my work and watch me - it's scary and disturbing, but not against the law. The problem in law is - how would you determine the harm being done? What would be the proof? If I stand outside your house for a while, am I stalking you, or just taking a rest from a walk? If I leave you a note or a gift, is that threatening you in some way?
The law is not a good method of dealing with this type of anti-social behavior, because it is very difficult to define the actual offense.

Go to your local court house and tell them you want to apply for a stalking protection order.
You will fill out a form and explain in detail everything that is going on..
He has to do something other then follow you around on public roads or a public job.. That's not illegal.. You have to explain why you feel unsafe.
Then you will speak in front of a magistrate and tell them everything you wrote down. At that time.. they will deciede if a stalking protection order should be granted.
Good luck. i know it sounds scary but the police were right.. it's not breaking the law following you around on public roads or public places. You need the stalking protection order and then they can do things at that time.

Tell your employer too. Studies have found that women with "unstable partners" have a higer chance of the violence coming into the workplace.....I personally would call the cops everyday to complain. Take pics of the things he does. Write down everything he says to you. If you have proof, they have to act. Good luck and definitely carry that pepper spray.

Depends on what you define as stalking, the situation you have may not fit the elements of the offense, I would have to hear more of the circumstances to offer an opinion.

Girl, get a license for and carry a handgun.........or some other form of protection, like pepper spray. I fear that even though it is a crime to stalk someone, the police will not do anything about it, because they are undermanned and have to spend their man-hours on what the call "real crimes". You will not get any help from them, you need to protect yourself.

You can get a restraining order or a peace bond against him where he can not come with in 500 feet of you in a public place, or withing 500 feet of your home. If the police do not intervene then, i would go to a higher power. If you can get someone on their behinds over it, they will step up.

I'm sure there were people that were saying people were stalking them and they really weren't, hours of police work and lots of money were probably spent for people that were just angry. That's unfortunate to those that are truly in need of help, but stupid people ruin everything for everyone.

To be honest, your story is overly dramatic. He "almost robbed the store" ??? and your mother called him and told him to meet you ... and this is practically a "murder" ???
Get real.
