How will I learn things if I don't ask ~ fan belt isn't something elementary ~ it obviously is a little more complex than that ~ if you're going to be ignorant and childish, don't answer my questions ~ move on!

it's not found on many cars today since the advent of the electric fan. Now it's call the accessory belt or serpentine and drives the engines accessories :)

Definition: The rubber strip connecting components in the engine compartment including the alternator, water pump, emission controls, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor.
Here's a pic. It's the black strip that snakes around the pulleys.

It turns the fan water pump and other components. If it breaks, you may still be able to drive the some cars a VERY short distance. The car will liely overheat and the battery will like discharge.

A fan belt is a rubber belt runs from you engine to you fan.... when your car heats up, the fan turns and cools the antifreeze in the radiator.

a fan belt is a belt that is used to spin the fan which cool down the radiator.once the radiator is cool,cool coolant will flow into the hot engine and cool down the engine. without the fan belt,your engine will get hot or overheat

it rotates with the engine and is run by pulleys and it turns the pulleys which in turn runs the alternator and water pump ,along with the powers steering pump,and anything else the car might have the needs turned in order to function right on it,i hope this help,s.
