What is it you hate about your job?
If you basically like what you do, but dislike your company, or your boss or coworkers, you can probably find a comparable job with another organization.
If you don't like what you're doing, there may be other jobs in your organization you'd like better. Perhaps you could transfer to another opening in the company. Usually when someone moves from one department to another the pay stays the same.
If you hate everything about your job, you can get training for something else and move on to a whole new career.
Generally, it's easier to get a job if you're already employed. That means it's not a good idea to quit and hope you'll find something you like better.

Not if you absolutely hate it. If you know it's only temporary you can tolerate it for a while. It's hard to strike a balance between the amount of money you want/need to make and how much you like your job. Naturally there are no jobs that are perfect every day! Good luck.

it is if you're into selling your entire life away to a corperation that doesn't care about you. you'll have lots of money, but when would you spend it? then you'll grow older and your kids will have plenty of nice things, but their parent's work at a job they hate and therefore have become bitter. Any life choice you make that you are not comfortable with is damaging to your personal being. make enough money to put away for a little while so you don't suffer during the transitional phase, then find a job you like.

Only for the meantime, I have learned the hard way that nless your happy the money is never enough! I now an happier than ever doing what suits me best... at significantly less pay.
I guess it depends what your passion in life is... if it is money than your well paid job will probably keep you motivated. But if you are disgrutled, it shows. Believe me.

It all depends on the person. For some people, money is everything. They can be unhappy at a job, but love the money. For other people, they have to enjoy what they do in order to survive. There are so many people who work at jobs that make them depressed...that it's ridiculous. I say, be happy & make good money!!!!

I hate my job and really don't make decent money, but it pays my bills. I support two kids on my own, so it has to be enough in order to keep food in their bellies and a roof over their heads.

how decent is "decent"?
i think whatever plays with your marbles is not worth any amount of money in the world.
or go to the extreme and find a job you'll really really hate but make sure you get double from what you're earning now.

Yes, if if the money is all you are concerned with. But I for one don't like to be miserable while working. I like the money, but the reward of making a difference counts for something too. I do think though, that even if you find the job of your dreams, they all have some sort of a downfall. But it doesn't hurt to find something you enjoy to do and get paid for it.

It's tough to find work you truly love, that pays you decently, too.
I would say if you HATE your job, though, you need to find something else, regardless of your pay. Otherwise, that hate will find a way to creep into other areas of your life, no matter how hard you try.

The money keeps you going, but you will never be happy. I am in a similiar spot, and I would really love to leave my job, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what I would do next.
More rum shots to thinking!
