what does 'pp' means at the beginning of some pdf articles?
for example pp 48-140.
Its the page number i guess, but i wanna know does it have to do anything with the pages of the original book ?
I mean the book that has converted to the pdf form.
so does it mean that for example it has just converted pages 48-140 of the original book?

If it's done correctly when converting the original into pdf, the numbers in the pdf files correspond precisely with the numbers in the printed book.

However, it takes knowing how to use the PDF Creator well to accomplish this, and many of the books/articles I have seen, the pages do NOT correspond, because the person doing the converting hasn't set it up properly.
