If they put that in the contract, yes. However, if you made an offer based on the house having those pieces, stand your ground and fight.

This should be pre-established in the contract, otherwise, it's a part of the house. Why don't they take the toilet and some of the ductwork while they're at it? Why were they allowed to do this? Contact the realtor and inform him/her of this, and you may have a right to alter the amount of your payment...

Unless you gift these items to them in the contract, they are part of the house and you must be compensated, or they must leave them. A bit of flummery is going on!!! Call a solicitor, and a Bobby!!
