My fiance' surprised me by cleaning the house and doing all the laundry. However, he cleaned the hardwood floor then polished it.......WITH PLEDGE. We are all slipping and sliding. How can I get it off so we can stop walking like were on ice. I tried ammonia and water but its still slick.

'reynwater' is right. Hot water with washing up liquid will take it off. I was actually silly enough to do this too, my cat done the splits just like Bambi on the ice in the film, but as 'melo' said, make sure you dry it afterwards. I keep an old towel for drying it. I throw it on the floor, stand on it and wipe it dry with my feet.
hope this helps :)

Aww, what a sweetie, bet it smelled nice. Try good old dishwashing detergent and water. Dawn will strip the oil off a drilling rig!

mop it with vinegar water, not the best smell in the world, but, it'll cut the oil from pledge.

Use Sunlight dishwashing detergent. It works! it even removes tar and wont damage your laminate or hard wood floor if you dry it right away.

ROTFLMAO. THat is so sweet that he tried to do that for you, and so typical that you got the result you did! Have you tried Mr Clean? Good luck, he sounds like a keeper!

Yipes, that sounds dangerous! Use Doozy precleaner......but don't use the plain Doozy, you'd be back to where you are now.
