yamaha warrior atv engine dies when you put it in rev . why?

Does the transmission clunk into gear? or does the quad jerk when you shift it? Try adjusting the clutch cable free play.
With the engine off, adjust the reverse linkage at the shift lever so you can shift to reverse with a small amount of rocking the quad (without using clutch). Reverse gears shift fork could need replacing.
Will it stall with the rear wheels off the ground? If yes, then the trani is probably OK.

its a two stroke isn't it if so I would check the air filter two stroke clog quit often
