I cannot figure out how to use the instant messenger?

it pops up on the screen, and they say they can read what I am writing, but I cannot read what they respond back to me.

Certainl you are a victim of popups or phishing. Do not respond to such popups. Certainly DO NOT pass on sensitive information in such messages

Try restarting your computer or uninstalling then reinstalling the program. Also try running all of your anti-virus and spyware.
