If your iPod comes with an USB cable, just connect your iPod to iMac using the USB cable. An icon representing the iPod will appear on the desktop. Double click on it to open it in a window. Just select the songs and drag and move the songs to your hard drive.

have you tried the application called iTunes that comes with your mac. It synchronizes the iPod and the iMac like a breeze.

Use Senuti *reversed of itunes*, also do the same thing, reverse the process of how itunes encode the mp3 files into the ipod
