The FCC is really cracking down on folks who send threats, abusive language, slurs, etc. over the internet especially on open sites such as Yahoo.
I personally, am reporting such people to them, how about it gang?

I already do. But I decide to carefully select which ones I report. If someone writes, "you're a mean person and if I were around, I'd give you a good spanking" or something like that, I don't report them. The insult is too mild and the 'threat' can't really be followed through. Now, if someone says, "Say that to my face and I'll kill you, you stupid b*tch!" then I report it. Definite insult, definite threat. It's a good idea. Such things have no place in polite society.

I will join you. I am not sure of the laws and regulations on this and how much the FCC can (or more importantly will)move on this. I brought this subject up in my question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoDWySpuWgYxMJIqllX2M6fzy6IX?qid=20061016030324AAbjxHT.

I think the real thing is that this forum has degenerated so badly that it has lost all credibility, usefulness and desirability.

Yahoo as a responsible international corporation should take care of this. The are a profit making company. Their primary asset is their users. They should not only treat their users with respect but strive to satisfy them so people will continue to use their products.

I have suggested that the problem with 90% of the stuff here being crap is to have one person at Yahoo monitor the forum 24/7 and immeditely delete the garbage. That seems to me to be a small cost.

Pressure should be brought to bear on yahoo. I would like to see Gay/Lesibian activists take the issue up instead of concenrating all their energies into gaining "equality" and "respectablilility" in the patriarchial institution of marriage.

Tell me how that works out for ya there.
No one cares about the GLBT community least of all the FCC and yahoo hates us. They just give us this "community"/gulag to keep us here for a sense of community and so we wont post in the other sites and ask questions that offend straights. Try and see how fast they jerk your questions off as not being posted in the right category. Yet they can post their crap in our community and we have to put up with it.
In fact if we defend ourselves we get reported.

Do you have a program that will find these people's REAL Names and addresses? If not, good luck. Why do you think Yahoo! hasn't been able to do anything?

The real danger is their continued creation of a hostile and ignorant environment.
Yes, this is a real danger as more and more bashers/haters/clones keep pouring in.

The AAF says not something approximately not eating alcohol. They DO on the different hand state that "Alcohol won't be marketed if the viewing objective industry could be extra desirable than 15% under the age of 21".

the FCC have been neutered, you would do better to send something definitive to the folks who are really responsible for the Internet.

the FCC does not care about the LGBT community and i am sure any investigating they do will be against the abused fighting back and not against the abusers. any more 'cracking down' on free speech and all we will be able to say to each other is 'hello'.

I think people should have a right to say anything they want. If there is no "real" danger... Just ignore these ignorant people.
