in humans, the pulp canal closes after the tooth is full grown. The tooth does not grow thereafter. In rabbit, the pulp canal remains open permanently so that the tooth grows throughout life. such teeth r said 2 be "rootless" or with "persistent pulp". the size of the teeth remains constant as they wear out at the tips & hence teeth don't grow like hairs & nails.
