I had a friend build me a computer, which works great, except for the fact that it either freezes up for I get the blue screen "virtual memory dump" every 5 minutes or so. I've put in a new hard drive and reinstalled Windows, with no luck. I've noticed that it happens mostly when I'm online or using Windows Media Player. I'm guessing it's a hardware issue. Any ideas??

Check your RAM with MemTest86, also check your temperatures and voltages using SpeedFan.

Go to "Fresh Devices, com" download fresh diagnose and fresh UI you will know everything possible about your computer and it has great benchmark test as well.(by the way it's free.) and the fresh UI will help you tweak your system in a safe way if you are not that computer savy, it will also help you adjust your L-2 cache which sounds like it needs increasing to keep the comp. from shutting down. If you can do this yourself try setting it to 10k kbps. and back it up in increments of ten if it's still unstable until it's OK.

what is the spec of ur computer? i think you have too low RAM...
also check if the fan on the power supply works, also check if the processor is been cooled enough...over heating of the processor can shut down the computer, and eventually the system will crash completely...and the virtual memory thing might be the result of faulty RAM or lower RAM

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it , it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
