I was riding through the field and then tried shifting in reverse. When I pushed down on the shifter lever it wnt to neutral and then wouldnt go to reverse. When I tried it again the lever went all the way down and never came back up on its own and is just limp, moving up and down freely. Shaft threads are not stripped on the outside where lever meets the shaft. seems to be something inside crankcase...What is wrong?? What do I do??

Yup. Time for transmission repair. There's no quick fix. Since the shift lever went limp, you might get lucky and the engine won't have to be fully disassembled.

Your transmission probably broke. Take it to the shop.
