My 77 corvette Drivers seat is stuck in the seated position.The latch is stuck and won't budge.How to fix??

C3 Drivers seat stuck in Seated position, Latch is stuck and won't budge at all. Just happened out of the blue. It should'nt be a problem until I need to get to the battery. Any help would be appreciated.

You might try "WD-40"

if you have tools and car repair experience,remove seat and remove the electric seat motor.then move seat back and forth and look for binding.next ,feed power to the motor and make sure the motor run freely without binding.then inspect the seat switch and make sure it has power to the motor when you move the switch.if not,switch is bad..
