I did attend and did not pass out ( just sweated a lot ! ), and I just want to know if there are any others out there who attended the birth and are willing to admit it ( passing out/fainting or whatever happened ) ! felt sick, I dunno.

Some interesting answers, I remember seeing guys unable to keep still in one place, chain smoking, tension filled, it is quite a testing experience!

My hubby attended all three of our children's births. He never passed out or had any problems. He was actually in the birthtub with me for our third and he is the one who caught her and handed her to me. It was an amazing experience.

My partner was with me, he was a patient in another ward of the hospital at time and he was made to leave so that he could take his medication and come back again.
He did feel sick, but only because he had a raging migraine and was on antibiotics that made him feel ill.
But he was great, and good at reminding me to breathe which I did keep forgetting about during the major contractions in the hour or so leading up to the birth.

My husband was there when we had our first baby I thought he would pass out being that he was only 17 almost 18 (2months after) but he did great I thought I wouldn't be able to do it cause I was barely 18, but we both made it, the funny thing is my little sister was in the room while they were doing my epidural and she had passed out cause I had a stream of blood running down, she had to go down to the emergency room and get her head checked out.

My best friend is pregnant and her husband is a little unsure about being in the room while she is giving birth so she is having her sister and me be her "back-up" birth coaches. We're on standby just in case he gets sick or passes out.

My husband attended all 3 of our children's births. He did not pass out, nor did he feel sick or any of that. He even cut the cord.

My husband attended the birth of our daughter and he was really cool about it. He was just standing there curious too see how the baby comes out. He was not disgusted at all and I thought that he would.

My husband was there. He didn't pass out. I don't know if he felt sick because he focused on me and watching when contractions were coming. He didn't really look. I'm kind of glad he focused my face. I felt a lot better.

I was there for my daughters birth. missed my sons due to the Army.
Didn't get sick. but will have bad images in my head due to the afterbirth and them wanting me to cut the cord.(Gross). But did it and made it through with no problems.
