Honestly I tell you, it is only the cartoon that is complete load of ****. The game is actually really good, because it involves a lot of thinking.
If you think the game sucks I challenge to play one of the newer versions on the DS or GBA. If you still think it sucks then may I be stoned to death while being shot at dawn and hung by the neck over a pit of burning sulphur full of acid-proof sharks.

Never played the games so I have no opinion on that, but the first series of Pokemon was good, it just got boring after too much of the same. Maybe I'll have to get a DS and give them a go.

Well, it doesn't help that they market the entire line of Pokemon goods -- including the video games -- towards kids around here. Plus the mentality in Western culture is probably something like "cute little creature-like things == stuff for children".
So if you want to blame anyone, blame the marketing departments of Nintendo, Game Freak, and everyone else involved in localizing the cartoons and games. :P

holy cow, my 9, 6, and 5 year old boys love Pokemon. I have gone broke buying them red green blue versions for their game boys, lol. But the fun part about this game is I like to play it too. So it is a fun game we can play together. My 9 year old is obviously into more then anyone else in the family. But Pokemon's allowed in our home anytime.

I don't know much about it but by your reaction it must be a child's game and as an adult I really don't have any spare time for playing childrens games.

I enjoy the games and I'm 15!!!!
But the reason why no1 likes Pokemon is because people think its is indeed for 2 year old.

One of my teens still loves his Pokémon cards. I do not no if he watches the cartoons (he has his own TV) but there are those who still like them.......
