can i spread fiberglass resin on shower tile and if so will this waterproof it?

Instead of fiberglass resin, why not use an epoxy resin. It is easy to work with and just as durable. It is also available in several colors. Clean surface well with acid....hydrochloric acid, wait until it is dry, then mix catalyst with epoxy and apply with a paint brush. It is water proof. Setting time varies with product but usually within 24 hours or less. E-Bond Epoxy Resins in Ft. Lauderdale have an excellent line of epoxies.
