APA is much more user friendly than is MLA. It calls for internal citation which omits the need for an end note page. It also is much less complicated for using subsequent references. I used APA for writing my dissertation for my Ph.D. while I taught research at the same time and was required to use MLA. I bent the rules just a bit and taught my students BOTH so they could take advantage of the user friendliness of APA. Good luck!!

MLA and APA are for different purposes...if you are a medical major then you will use APA; otherwise, you will use MLA.
The only differences I am sure of are the citations. Basically the formatting of the citations is ordered differently; some information is left out or added. Other than that, it's been too long since I've looked at an APA paper.

example of MLA citation: (Smith, 92).
example of MLA works cited: Smith, John. {{UNDERLINE THE TITLE, SORRY I CAN'T DO THAT ON HERE}} "Title of Book". New York: Signet, 1998.

example of APA citation: (Smith, 1998, p. 92).
example of APA works cited: Smith, J. (1998). {{UNDERLINE THE TITLE, SORRY I CAN'T DO THAT ON HERE}} "Title of Book", 92.

hope that helps some. don't forget to use underline or italics instead of quotations for works cited (oh, which is called "References" in APA)
