Here is a great web site dedicated to Bettas and has detailed information on breeding them. From selecting good stock to breed, tank set up and tons of pictures of how the process goes. Hope this helps!

I haven't bred them but I hear you need atleast 5 females for 1 male, since the males will bug the females until they mate with him or die. A big tank would be better atleast 10 gallons, those little cups and betta tanks are cruel! Dropping the temp(a few degrees) and warming it back(over a couple weeks) up may intise some breeding, it'll simulate the seasonal changes.

HIS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT HAVE LITTLE ACIDITY LEVELS IN WATER, TEST PH AND TRY TO PUT BELOW 7.O PH WITH AN AQUARIUM PH KIT
