This is basically the thinkpad notebook with wireless. So how are you connecting to the Internet? If you are having problems connecting to hotmail and certain sites but not all - I suspect you are connecting to a wireless modem router and your problem is there - check and see if there is a firmware upgrade for the modem/router. If you're using dial up - again it could the the modem. You can try going to f-secure and they will do you an online scan for a virus - but it doesn't sound like a virus - but an Internet connection problem.

The problems you're having wont be fixed by simply trying to remove the software you've installed after purchasing the computer. It seems like you have certain virus/spyware problems.

Download Ad-aware and run a full test to remove most spyware (dont forget to update it!) and also make sure your virus scanner has checked your computer (and is updated)

There are a bunch of spyware removal software out there, hopefully they can solve your problem. If not, well, you could always backup and reinstall windows :-0

Go buy a new copy of windows XP home (under $100) and install that. Apply all the windows updates, and check all the vendor websites for up-to-date drivers for you video, sound, etc...

You can also download and use Ubuntu, a linux operating system. It looks as good as a MAC, but the entire OS and all the software you get for it is free. Look into it, it ROCKS!

If your computer is not working properly when it is switched on, there is a hardware problem. Most of these problems can be solved by just opening up the computer and removing the dust. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yd34oj

removing the programs you installed , will not remove the spyware from your laptop .
try to do system restore to the point before you were having problems,
go to start - accessories - system tools - system restore.
