There are stores on the web that specialize in helping people do that. Microcenter is one. They have all the parts on sale at reasonable prices and will provide advice to customers about what goes together compatibly. Look for them on Internet.
They might have a branch local to you and then you could take one of their free Saturday classes on that topic. if you haven't done a project like this before you need to find parts that work together, info on how to handle electronics without frying it with static electricity, and step-by-step strategies for testing what you put together. So it is not just like doing a table from Ikea where a kit has it all and the next steps are well documented and obvious.
If you are doing it for fun get the info and work your way into it. if you are doing it to save money and get exactly what you want in a computer, you might be better off watching to see what goes on sale, buying one that is almost perfect, and then replacing some components if they are all that don't fit your dream.

A Computer!
There are plenty of websites out there that allow you to customize a computer just the right way before you purchase it, this is what I think you want. I have my favourite canadian one in sources. When I purchase a computer I always research for the right components (Video Card, Sound Card, Processor, Motherboard ...) and then purchase them all on a website, and install them together once it arrives.
If you're looking into a more electrical design point of building a computer, you might want to look into information on microprocessors and digital logic for a start!

I dont really get what you are asking about; here is what I got:
First and foremost, remember all cable are connected to the CPU basically. You can never go wrong with where to place the cable behind coz each of them has got a different patterns and a specific port to enter on the CPU. Just check the Cable pattern and the port pattern, do they match? Also remember for the mouse its green and for the keyboard its is purple. Connect all the cables to the CPU before you connect to the mains - safety first.
Good Luck.
