i heard a rumor a while back, way back, about a possible prequal type of movie coming out...i think it was called "The Elm St. Murders" or something like that....in which the story of how Freddy Krueger got started, that is the unburned version of Freddy as how we see him in the glimpse of "Freddy's Dead" and "Jason vs. Freddy".....anyone have any info on this?

"A Nightmare on Elm Street: Real Nightmares" was completed for television and cancelled. It was never released. But the truth is, it wasn't a sequel/prequel to the movies...It was like a game show.

In the late 80's there was the show "Freddy's Nightmares" that only aired for about 20 shows. It had stories about Elm Street and how Freddy got to be "Freddy".

I haven't heard that rumor but I would love to see new Nightmares. I love Freddy, all of his movies are great. Better than Jason any day. I'm a fan.

nope. sounds like it would be stupid anyway... they need to stop with this series of movies before their fan-base gets burned out on stupid non-scary movies.
