If one has to "make" a boyfriend get married, the marriage will be a poor one.

You dont want to make him get married, then you wont have a happy marriage. Marriage takes time and being ready for that steps takes time. Sometimes longer than others. If you two are meant to get married it will happen. Just give him time to want to get married at his own pace not because he feels he has to.

I didn't make him marry me. He proposed and I set the date. First I ask him what date he liked and he said Friday the 13th. So I got on the computer and picked a date for both of us and now we are married.

If there is love, trust and honesty in the relationship, and both parties are willing to commit in marriage then I say 'Go for it'
but make absolutely sure that you are making the right decision.

Hire a special forces unit to kidnap him, hog tie and duct tape on the mouth. And then let them torture him until he is so scared for his life that he is forced to re-evaluate his entire moral system. Then when he comes back, he will cling to you like an orangutan baby.

Well you can't make him get married when he isn't ready. When he is ready you will know.
Talk to him and see where he stands on your relationship and marriage.

You can't force him. Yu can talk to him and tell him that you want to marry him and have a civilized talk with him, or if you want, my friend proposed to her boyfriend. But, you can't force him.

Be someone he cannot live without and make sure that everything he needs is taken care of...if not, he will look for it somewhere else!
